Solve : Samsung Syncmaster 933 sound issues?

Answer»

Hope this is in the RIGHT place. Anyway, I have a Samsung Syncmaster 933 that hardly has any sound even with it turned all the way up. Have Windows 7 and ran the troubleshooter, says both the speakers and audio driver are fine. So the problem must lie with the monitor. I cannot mouse over and get it to do anything. I can push the side buttons and change the brightness, the resolution, and the type of screen I want, but cannot do anything with the sound. It says that it's "auto locked", maybe that's why. Cannot figure out how to get it unlocked either. Would love to have some sound. Any help appreciated. Just checking - Do you have an audio cable running from the monitor to the PC and have you checked that this is fully connected.  Failing that you can pick up a pair of pc speakers for a FAIRLY low price depending on which ones you want.  If you get a decent set you will probably get BETTER quality that the monitor's built in ones too.Yeah, it has an audio cable and everything is connected as it should be. That's not the problem, nor the speakers, it's the monitor. The speakers are old, but worked excellent with my LAST computer for many years, right up to their last DAY with that. I want to continue using them as they are Polk Audio's. I currently can only hear a very minimal sound even with the sound turned all the way up after adjusting from the control panel. I wanted to know how to unlock the monitor's secrets to adjusting it. Why can I do a few things while not others?
