Solve : SATA adapter?

Answer»

I purchased and installed a new upgrade kit (motherboard, processor, power supply, and WINDOWS XP OS). The kit also came with a SATA adapter. I need to know if my standard HDD is supposed to work with the SATA adapter. After completing the recovery process (INSTALLING the OS) my computer will not BOOT up from the HDD. I get the error message, "Media Test Failure, check cable."

what type of adapter is is? a SATA to USB, a IDE to SATA, etc.hi there firstly as for the sate adaptor yes you can run a ata h/drive from there but your need a sata=ide connector avaible from maplin approx £3, but why would you when your new motherboard will have a ide connector on it from which you can run cd drive and hard drive.
