Solve : SATA Hardrives?

Answer»

I have a computer that has two SATA Hardrives. One reads as master but i can't GET the other one to be reconized as a slave. I tried working in the BIOS and setup menus but to no avail. Any suggestions? SATA drives don't have Master and Slave designations, as only one device can be on each channel. As opposed to IDE/ATA, where you can have two and they require separation. What is it you are trying to do ? ?On your MOBO where the connection for your sata is it will say sata 1 and sata 2
sata 1 is your master and will boot from there if there is an os to boot, if there is not one there then it will move to sata 2 and check if there is an os there, effectivley sata 1 is your master (but it is not called that any more)

I have one plugged into SATA 1, that one is being read as the master. The other SATA drive is in SATA 2. I only have those two SATA connections on the motherboard. The system boots to windows through the master, but i can't get the other one to be reconized at all. I tried the BIOS and setup menus but i can't get the second drive to be detected. If it's a new drive the SATA drivers need to be loaded and the drive needs to be formatted before Windows will recognise it...
