Answer» My Windows 98 system has SUDDENLY said it wasn't shut down properly and does a scan disk but keeps stopping at 27 %. Any ideas to get past this or to stop the scan in the first place ?Have you tried RUNNING it fromm a bootdisk ? ? If you do not have one you cal DLoad one from bootdisk.com. Use the FILE to make a bootable floppy. Put the floppy in and POWER up...at the A: prompt type in chkdsk /r and hit Enter.
