Solve : Scanner bulb is always on, please help.? |
|
Answer» I am running Windows 98 on an old Gateway computer and whenever the computer is on the scanner bulb is on. It never shuts off. I remember somewhere in Windows 95 you would go into config or one of those odd "run" programs and could check a box that would connect the scanner whenever the computer booted and this would turn off the scanner bulb. Can someone please help me to solve this ? I am going to sink this darn thing in the lake. Arrrgggg !!! Thank You. JohnWhat type of scanner is it? if you don't know how to find out, CH000502 on the website.APM......bios......setup.....plug and play........Okay guys, the scanner is a Paperport 3000 and I should mention it uses the old parrellel ports. It is connected straight to the computer and then the printer connects to the scanner with a Parrellel cable. I WENT into the setup utility/ advanced / bios / and did activate the plug and play (I assumed was set to yes) it wasn't but it is now and that did not change anything. *CENSORED* ! I THINK it is important that after I boot up the computer, lauch the Paperport software, connect the scanner and then turn off the software the scanner goes off. I'm SURE this is SOMETHING simple but it is driving me nuts. Thank you for the help. |
