I recently had to reinstall everything in my computer due to a virus. I am trying to re-install my scanner software and everything seems to be OK except when booting up I keep getting the message that it has "failed". I have installed this before and had no problem until now. Is my installation disc possibly the problem? If so how can I get a replacement or download installation instructions? My scanner is an IBM Idea Scan 2000. What operating system is this? How old is the scanner? Did it use to run on an older version of WINDOWS which you have since upgraded?My operating system is Windows 98. I have never used any other.Try "Add new HARDWARE" in control panel and see if windows detects the scanner. If necessary (windows does not find a driver), check "have disk" and point windows to so it can LOCATE the driver.I followed your instructions but STILL doesn't work. Could the disc be faulty?
