Answer» i got an OLD computer from my work , it was used to run a computerized saw so it was a computer and touch screen in one unit , when i got it home the first time i turned it on it all work well except for the touch screen didnt work , but the next time i turned it on the screen was all white. since it is all one unit the screen is pluged into the video card by what looks similar to a ribin cable , as that connection is inside the case the vga plug is free , if i plug a moniter into the vga it works correctly but the other still is all white , another thing that i found is strange is thet the touch part of the screen is not part of the screen it is just a lot of ir leds around a sheet of glass the screen is a sharp lq14x03e i dont see any numbers on the touch part any ideas??Question?.......i thot that was self explaning how do get the screen to show SOMETHING properYou mean the touch screen, I assume. I'm not familiar with them. What OS does this computer run on? If a Windows version, try looking in Display Properties>Settings and see what is shown as a monitor.since the touch part and the screen part a seporate i was planing on fixing the screen first
it is an old comp running windows 95 and the display settings only shows one of the 2 moniters and it sez "Laptop display panel (1024x768)"Looks like the display is correctly identified by the system - if you are going to replace it, I don't think that I can help you from here. If the system is similar to a laptop, there are many good 'how to' articles on the web for REPLACING laptop screens. I guess that you could also check with Sharp or the computer mfg.
Best of luck.if i unplug the bad screen nothing changes which means that it is the bad one that is not being detected
and i have no intention of replacing it i am looking for a way of fixing it if at all posiblePost the exact mfg and model of the computer - "an old computer from my work" is not much to go on!
If this is set up similar to a laptop, there are two areas to look at: inverter and backlight.
Look for documentation for your computer on the web and look for articles on replacing INVERTERS and backlights.
Post the asked for specs and maybe someone here will be familiar with the computer.sorry the computer is from a 3/4 million $ computerized saw thet is meny years old so the computer is only 200mhz 64mb ram mb is p5bv3+ running win 95 and the backlight seems to work how do i check the inverterSounds like you have a very SPECIALIZED, old unit and a fun project!
I have no idea, really, what you are dealing with, so, I suggest that you use Google.
Best of luck.
