Answer» Hi, When I boot my PC the screen is not visible and is covered in a chevron like pattern. I have attached a picture taken with my phone. Does anyone know what might cause this. Thanks. Andrew 1) What is new or different since the last TIME everything worked properly (ie, new hw, new sw, virus, error, etc)? 2) What happens when you boot to safe mode?Hi, If I can manage to restart windows then it is okay. I have to MUDDLE around to try to click on the restart button and then second time around everything is okay. I booted into safe mode and that was okay too. I have attached the details of my display. I get this problem almost immediately after I start my computer. I wondered if it was possibly malicious? I haven't changed anything recently. Andrew If it works okay in safe mode it's probably related to the driver or something else starting when Windows loads. Did you recently update or install a new driver?Hi, Thanks. I haven't changed anything in the past few months. Will look at what drivers are installed. AndrewTry going into device manager and ROLLING back the driver for your display adapter. Alternatively, assuming it's a desktop pc, go to the website of the display adapter OEM and download and install their current driver. Let's see if EITHER of those options helps.Hi Thanks, I will do that. It might be a little while before I can though. After I restart my pic every day it is okay. We are all working at home at the moment because of the coronavirus and, not being very experienced with hardware, can't afford to totally screw it up at the moment. I have a CHEAP Lenovo laptop. Thanks again. Andrew If it's a laptop, you need to obtain the driver from the Lenovo website.
