Answer» hey GUYS and gals,
so i am no computer wiz. in fact i know nothing. so i went against my better judgement and bought a laptop on e-bay that had been refurbished.
i got the computer this morn ing and it worked wonderfully.
i was under the impression that it had built in wireless, but it didnt. so i bought a usb wireless adapter.
i plugged in the adapter and clicked on the network i wanted. while it was enabling the chord got ripped out of the wall by a co-worker.
i plugged the chord back in (i must mention that the BATTERY does not charge so the chord needs to be in the wall for it to work so it SHUT off immediately in the middle of it enabling) and hit the power button.
you could imagine my frustration when the computer itself turned on but the screen didnt work...i mean pitch black. it seems as though it is booting up and everything the screen is just off.
any ideas or suggestions?
thanks in advance
adami forgot to mention it is an older model dell.....C840
is it possible the LED bulb went when the chord got ripped out of the wall?I'm not much of an expert either but something similar has happend to me ASWELL.. Is the cord you're using have a pack on it of some sort, you might've fried the cord if the battery isn't working.
Was there more to the event than just the cord being INADVERTENTLY pulled out of the wall--such as the computer falling? truenorth
