Solve : scsi for old scanner on newer computer?

Answer»

My Dad has an old scanner that he does not want to PART with, and I really can't blame him as they really don't MAKE them like that anymore, the thing weighs over 20 pounds...  It's an HP ScanJet4c, version 2.3.  It has a 50 pin scsi terminal on the back and the included cable terminates w/a DB25 on the scsi card side.  The unit came with a PCI/scsi card, a AdvanSys;ABP-930/40UA - ABP-960/70UA that is only compatible with Win 95-98.

He would like to use this scanner on a Compac PIII w/128Mb RAM running Win Me, VER. 4.90.3000 though he is willing to upgrade to XP.

I know there are products (PCI/scsi cards/adapters) available that will make this work but the DEALERS I have contacted have not gone out of their way to reply.

Thanks for any input or suggestions.  Oh, and not too technical...

thanks,

Have you looked for Windows XP drivers at http://www.driverguide.com?

That SCSI card should work with any of the OS's mentioned.
