Answer» Have external scsi case (CENT 50 pin Narrow scsi) hooked to Firewire port via RATCO Systems FR1SX scsi to firewire converter.
Have about 10 scsi hdd, an MO drive, Iomega drives, external CD-RW, Syquest drives all mount.
5 hdd will not mount and I think they need firmware updates. Two drives are Quantum and while searching for things Quantum I found this knowledgable group. Looking under the topic re: Quantum there seems to be no firmware (DRIVER) available.
All of the hdd in QUESTION have at ONE time or another been primary or external hdd to my Macintosh pre OS X. Now that I have OS X and a MAC (G4) without scsi connector I use the FW converter, and I would like to get these hdd mounted. Other than firmware are there pins to jumper to set or remove internal termination?

Needed to set a jumper to enable termination on the suspect drives. Thanks to an info sheet at Seagate.
