Answer»

Hello Everyone,

after my computer had a minor trouble with the winlogon.exe file being corrupted, my computer's Ethernet CardS won't work anymone. I have a P IV 3.2 Ghz with HT , 1GB of RAM, a ATI Radeon 9550 and a Asus P5P800 SE motherboard... The cards once worked in perfect harmony till recently... please help ! More DETAILS please.Oh I forgot to mention : when i go in the device manager , it tells me in the properties window : " Error : driver is damaged or missing, CODE 39". I tried reinstall the intel drivers that came with the motherboard, but I ended out of luck.Code 39 error is usually related to a CD/DVD device...remove them inside Control Panel and re-boot and see what happens.Well, I had installed a new Matshita Cd drive, then when the network card crashed, i removed it. THOUGH the problem still there. Any auggestions ?

This could or could not be good news...

Where are you now ? ?reinstalled everything on the comp, xp, sp2, anti virus ... installed every driver too, fixed the problem... I guess a windows file was corrupted.Good news.

You might want to consider an imaging program for a good clean backup...it beats the snot out of having to re-install everything.

I highly recommend Acronis True Image. Best money you'll spend this YEAR...unless you happened to have the Kentucky Derby winner for a few hundred thousand.
