Solve : Sell LCD?

Answer»

I have a dead Acer al2017 abd LCD screen and i cant really fix it by myself.. so im thinking about selling the lcd by its self... do you guys know what these things go for? and how about the acer al1917 abmd?

ThanksA dead MONITOR does not go for much, if you could sell it at all, I'd be surprised.

I've seen used but working 17" LCD monitors in pawn shops selling for $30, with a six month guarantee.  Unless somebody just wanted a challenge, I can't imagine somebody buying it.I have a 93 Corolla that's dead on arrival...perhaps we can do a package deal on this... they are acers and fro what i heard is that most of the time they have POWER board issues.. so is the actual screen going to get killed because of the power board? Quote from: rthompson80819 on July 05, 2010, 05:09:42 PM

what you mean patio? The trouble with selling a 17" LCD which is not working, is that there are so many available cheaply which do work. The fact that you have sold a used laptop screen in the past is an entirely different matter...without a screen, a laptop (which may be worth hundreds of dollars or more) is practically useless, so a person WOULD be willing to pay some money to get it working again. A regular LCD screen, on the other hand, is pretty much a throw away item these days.

As for Patio, I beleive he may have been having a joke with you.

Good luck.OK. I was thinking that people would actually help instead of "JOKE" around which isn't helping at all. A simple answer like 20inch=$$$ and 17inch=$$$ or at least advise me to buy a power board which cost about $10-$15 and see if that would help.. Well anyhow thanks for the people that "actually helped".So the Corolla is out of the equation then ? ? Quote from: BluerjB on July 06, 2010, 03:57:41 PM

Way to post like a spoiled kid. OK. 20 inch=$00.00 and 17 inch= $00.00. Quote from: patio on July 06, 2010, 04:08:34 PM

Let us know how you get on...

I posted this on yahoo answers. "No more that $10 each on ebay. Look on completed listings under "spares and REPAIR". well i think that thats a right answer. well i'll take it there then or just buy a new power board Quote from: BluerjB on July 07, 2010, 05:18:41 AM

Do you even know for sure that that's the issue? Quote from: quaxo on July 07, 2010, 10:38:55 AM

Yes it is the issue, there is a blown capacitor on the power board. It's is a common problem with these LCD screen's.
