Solve : serial moniter?

Answer»

I have a cute litle 12 inch moniter, but there is a problem, well 2 problems, it is a serial (male) and is mising 3 pins from the adpter. I was wondering if you could splice the moniter end and put a VGA(female) on it(though I doubt this because of the # of wire difference) IR if there is something I can buy he will convert M serial to F VGA? and if I can do that, would it be easy to replace the missing pins in he serial end of the cord?

input is nice,

and how Dare you have more Posts than I , I am the The only Supper N00b Here and Ive been here longer too Meany you could just take a really tiny screw driver and bend the pins BACK into place... i did that with my primary monitor, which my dad found in a box in the back of a van that was rusting away in a junk yard near our HOUSE, works fine, but the monitor flicks off and on from just alittle vibration... i think its just the age of the monitor, its a 1996 NEC MultiSync XV17+... that and the fact that it was sitting in a van in the middle of a junk yard for god knows how long...Dead , that not quite the problem, See his monitor Is a 9PIN D connector, where as VGA is 15pin D, and the NEW ones DVI well there... eh Number++ D connectorsah... well in out of ideas for now then...
