Answer» Hi guys wondering if any of you could help? Basically all started a COUPLE of days ago when the plug SOCKET of my computer was turned on the computer seemed to automatically start up without me pressing the power button on the pc, i though maybe it was a problem with the PSU so i replaced it today i have fitted the new PSU and it is doing the same. It doesnt turn itself completly on it seems to 'pulse' continuously and does not respond to the power button on the PC. Any ideas guys? CheersIt seems your motherboard LOGIC has gone haywire. When your power is connected (plugged in), power is applied to your motherboard, whether it is turned on or not. This allows logic to detect your power switch and for the system to poll (self test) your devices during start up.
This can be caused by bad components/connections on your motherboard, power supply or PC CASE. It can also be caused by a bad power source (house wiring), although not likely.
Since you have replaced your PS, you should check/replace the case power switch. If your problem persists and your house wiring is okay, you probably have a bad motherboard.
