Solve : Should i get more ram??

Answer»

Xp
1.25gb DDR ram
Radeon 9600xt (ordered a HD3650 hoping it will work)
Going for swtor

My ram is 256mb short of requiremtn
But my video card ram is 256mb above, so will it work out?

My pc max ram supported is 2gb
I got 1.25 so is it worth replacing my 256 stick with a 1gb(this pc is a temporary so don't need uber power)

I'm using a flash DRIVE as a page file as 1.80 gb

So COMPETITIVELY speaking, how many mb ram does my page file equal?
I know they ain't the same, but as far as speed contribution and comparison

WOULD u say my 1.8th pagedile would equal 100mb ram? I hear ram is 20 times faster than USB

But it all ads up right?

FOR YHE GALAXY!!For how cheap RAM is these days I suggest just spending 20 bucks and get the most you can that is compatible. Will really speed things up other than gaming as well.
Go get a 1GB stick and put it in.
I think you will be amazed at how much faster it is then the USB1.  DDR RAM is not as cheap as DDR3.
2.  His PC only supports 2GB.
3.  Never use a USB flash drive for a pagefile.  That's PROBABLY the big slowdown.yeah im paying 25$ for 1gb ddr ram (cheapest on newegg!)

got 1gb stick with a old 256mb stick, so im sure its slowing down my 1gb stick as well..

Why would my USB PF be a slow down? my current HDD is IDE, not even SATA

so usb is faster, right?

tbh, i have tried many times the last 2 months with and without USB PF, and i defintely think its faster with the USB

is it worth for me to pay the 25$ to get that extra ram? considering i dont know how much longer i will use this PC...could be a few months, could be a few weeksTo answer this question "..could be a few months, could be a few weeks". If those are your maximum intended use limits i would say no it is NOT worth it.truenorth Quote from: STC on June 08, 2012, 01:23:07 PM

1.  The size of the stick does not determine the speed.
2.  An old IDE drive is faster than a USB flash drive.  Theoretical maximums:
IDE (ATA)- 100-133MB/sec
USB flash - 60MB/sec
3.  No.
4.  No.
