Answer» My sisters computer thats know mine dvd reader is make a humming sound. Like when it STARTS and when it reads the disc. Is this sounding like it will GO SOON. Its been doing it for a while I have a friend that had the same problem, the dvd drive COULD be very OLD. maybe if i were you i would buy another dvd drive.Its only about six years old. But I will get it replaced. Just wondered
