Solve : Slow PC performance, which hardware should I upgrade.. pls help!?

Answer»

I have an Intel Celeron 2.0Ghz Pentium 4 PC, with 1G of DDR RAM, a 256MB Nvidia GeForce FX5500 SERIES video card and IM using Windows XP. My problem is.. i have this game called Warcraft III Frozen Throne, but after more than 40-50 min of playtime the game just keeps on FREEZING.. im pretty much sure that i fit the system rquirements of the game and im only playing it at 1024x768 resolution with low extra details and effects.. i doubt that theres a problem with my video card. On the other hand, i have a 1G of DDR RAM, but my PC is running several neccessary programs like anti-virus and stuffs, plus i have a fully customized desktop, which i think adds to the consumption of the memory. Please I need your help, do i have to REPLACE my video card with a higher specs or should i increase my RAM?? Hoping for your quick and sincere response... Thank You!First off, the reason your game is freezing may or may not have to do with your computer specs. And if you are using this machine for a LOT of gaming, I would look into a newer pc.  Personally, I would not put a lot of money in your current rig if I was going to use it to game.  That said--

Ram would be your cheapest upgrade (assuming you motherboard will accept more than 1 gig)

My guess is you would see the most performance increase with a video card. The Celeron CPU is probably the bottleneck here so i'd have to agree with hejlikLoL! This PC was stocked in the basement since when? Stone Age i think.. i just upgraded a few parts to see if i can still use it.. the game that i mentioned doesnt necessarily requires super computer type, and no, im not using this PC for other games than that. i just assembled it for typical gaming and surfing only.. but i would consider your advice! and i checked the specs.. the board can take up to 1.512G of RAM but my VGA slot can only take a 5500fx series of video card (256MB), i'll probably just give it to my younger brother ^^

Thanks!
