Solve : So, I was robbed last night...?

Answer»

The majority of people on the world are good, decent people that deserve respect. These people I encounter on a daily basis. Then, there are the scum of the Earth who will do anything for money or whatever. I encountered one this morning.

I was running late because I overslept, so I missed breakfast. I run down to the car, and I find my glove compartment open, and my radio/CD player is missing. I think, "crap, I'd better report this." So I head down to the police station, making me late for school, and I make my report. This whole incident dampened my whole day.

Here are some things I find amusing:

Though they took the CD that was in my player (those bastards! Didn't even eject out of courtesy), they left the other CDs. I find this insulting; they didn't like my taste in music? Screw them!

They RIFLED through my glove compartment, but they didn't take anything substantial (including my title, insurance card...) from it. They did take out my bottle of Excedrin (the EQUIVALENT to TYLENOL), which they left on my passenger seat. I don't know, somehow the prospect of them actually contemplating stealing a freaking Excedrin bottle makes me chuckle every time I think about it.

I didn't bother mentioning this to the cops, but they took a wad of tissue paper I had stored in the glove compartment. Considering that they just made off with a $100 stereo, I find this hilarious. Why the *censored* would anyone steal a wad of tissue? Just ask, I'll give it to you.

They did not steal about $1.70 USD in loose change that was laying in plain sight below my CD player. *censored*, if you're gonna rob me of my tissue, why not take the money, too? It's not like the tissue was more valuable or anything.

Oh well. It's been a long day; I'm gonna soothe my head with two Excedrin. Sorry about the Day Dilbert...
The worst thing you could do is let it change your faith in human nature.

From what they did it sounds like youngsters to me...That sucksSo sorry I'm sorry, man...That totally sucks. I'm glad you can at least see the humor in it. About two years ago (maybe less), someone stole my $1500 laptop, so I definitely feel your pain.I'm sorry for you man,
Did you ever think about the fact that they might be seen when they were breaking in to your car and that could be the reason why the stole some things that are less valuable and left some things that are more valuable.
They never make time to eject a CD.

That's what a cop in France told us when we had almost the same thing.
He had also stolen our Radio but left a wallet with 200 euro in it.

Jonas Sorry to hear that, but at least remember you're better off than the many people who are injured when mugged, or even killed.
There's a lot of thieves operating round my area too, and beggars who tend to get violent.
Seems like no one has any respect for people or their property any more.Ugh. I hate thief's and sorry that a good guy such as yourself had to get taken ADVANTAGE of. I had my car broken into a few years ago and they messed up my car dash trying to get my CD deck out and finally gave up when they realized they couldn't (mounded to car frame next to impossible). But they did manage to steal my change and the change tray and my prescription sun glasses??

It's obvious people who break into cars are not the smartest people in the world. Guess that's why they're breaking into cars."Bloody Pirates!"

That really sucks. I'm surprised my cars haven't been broken into yet. I live in an apartment complex and I think the neighbors below me help traffic drugs or maybe just provide a hideout for druggies. The cops were there a couple WEEKS ago and arrested a lady that stole a car and they found a gun in her purse too.....
Well, I cant say that I have ever had problems with robbery, but my teacher had his case of CD's stolen from his car.
At least you are safe, and didnt get into any sort of accident with the burglar (being seen, and attacked etc) Sorry Dilbert but remember when you are older and have
a family perhaps.....
