Answer» I have a Dell Dimension 4400 running XP. The other day, I was burning a cd and the status bar just HALTED its progression completely and hung there. I had no choice but to shut off the computer during mid burn. Now I have a constant buzzing sound coming from my hard drive. I THINK it might be the fan, but I'm not sure. Is there a WAY for me to diagnose for sure what the problem is? (and possibly fix it) thanksShutdown...pull POWER PLUG from computer...open up computer...look inside. Are fans choked with dust? Should be 2 fans, 1 mounted on top of CPU, 1 contained within power supply (visible from back of computer). BTW, hard drive has no fan.
