Solve : Somethin really weird..?

Answer»

Ok, so I have a laptop and a regular computer..
I was at my regular, and felt i had to go and work with schoolstuff, turned it off and went to my lap.
Then when I was going to turn it on again, I noticed the chassi-fan was making louder "pffff" sounds than normally. And the screen, turned the lamp green as usual, but nothing was showing.
After 1 sec there was a message " No input signal, monitor going to sleep ". and it just went yellow (lamp again).
So I perdicted it was something about the cable. But no sir. I changed that and it still doesn't work.

THEN I noticed the mouse , nor keyboard, were getting any power. (lock buttons aint working, and mouse isnt glowing ).. and this is nothing I'm familiar with..

So please help me..here are a few specs abt the cputer..

AMD athlon 5400 dualcore
Geforce 7900 GTX
Microsoft keyboard,
A-tech gaming mouse
HP 20" widescreenHi Z....

While searching for a solution to my own problem, I saw your post. Now what I know about computers and $1 will get me a large drink at McDee's!

But I did just want to tell you that almost the same thing happened to me. Turned out my fan burned up and shorted out my mother board. My hard drive was ok and was able to save 99% of info. I am not trying to scare you and I hope that is NOT what is wrong with yours. But if you just cannot get it figured out with the help of this wonderful site, you may have to have a diagnostics run and check it out. I spent days thinking I was going to figure mine out and wasted a lot of time.

GOOD Luck and I will keep my fingers crossed!
SmargeIt sounds like a failed power supply to me. Does your computer turn on at all? Have you tried plugging your computer into a known good power outlet?Thank you both for your posts.

new information has come up..

My sisters computer has also turned to this exact same error., although she SEES the black/white startingscreens but just before the xp LOGIN page the screen goes "No Signal". This is why it's really REALLY weird.. I will probably turn it in for pro's to look at it, but that's tomorrow. If figure this out today it'd be great =).

Please give more posts, and solutions.

Can you answer those 2 questions for me so I know where to go from here?if the psu didn't gave any output to the keyboard, mouse, etc,and the power outlet is fine then it is all about psu.Sorry.

YES the computer "starts", and It doesn't close unexpectedly etc. It just stays on..blowing like *censored* x D
and yes , I have good powersources with which I've tried to plug the cpu with.Did you have a storm,or electrical surge in your area?
