Answer» I bought a PC in summer and when it came it worked like a charm. It's the old chestnut of dvd burning.
I burnt discs beautifully, but then it all went wrong.
It just won't behave. I've wasted loads of discs trying to burn simple data.
I had no problems before, but then I started noticing it wouldn't work after I installed a game and my sister came round to get some stuff burnt.
I used to get aborted by user error msgs. But then when I tried to run the normal version of Power2Go it gave me an error message. After twidling about with the thing, still no joy so I emailed the manufactuerer.
The CONSIDERED changing the DMA settings in primary (note I have three each of primary/secondary and the other one). I changed the one they told me to P10. Then the other option was to uninstall all Primary IDE channels and then the uninstall the dvd rw.
Still nothing changed.
I tried again to INSTALL a patch for Power2Go and this time round at least, the program did not crash. But when I try and burn it's coughs out the dvd with a failed error msg.
I don't know how many more discs I can waste. I've EVEN got an external dvd RW as well and that won't work either.
I know the PC did some automatic UPDATES a while ago, but I don't know what its updated. I did hear WinXP SP2 can cause errors but I don't have that installed. At least I don't think I have since it does not appear on the control panel.
Does anyone ELSE have any ideas?
I would of understood just one dvd rw not working, but both???Old question been revamped........huh?
