Answer» Hi, I'm pretty new to this so apologies for any stupid questions! My Sony Vaio laptop recently got a virus and had to go for repairs. The repair place had to DELETE everything on the computer but they put most of the software eg Microsoft back on. But since I got the computer back the inbuilt 'motion eye' webcam isn't responding and I can't find any files or tabs for it. On the Device Manager tab I can see that the Sony Visual Communication Camera is technically on the computer, I just can't figure out how to access it. It works fine when i'm on SKYPE but how do I get to it when its not through an internet site?! Many thanks, GDoes Device Manage show the device as working properly? Even if it does, PERHAPS you don't have the full software PACKAGE for it installed, the software that would have been deleted when the technician APPARENTLY formatted your hard drive and reinstalled Windows. You might visit Sony's website and search for software for the webcam. If found, download and install it.
