Well sometimes after many hours of computer games and drinking lots of pop, my fingers will sometimes try to "click" in midair.Lol    helpmeh, you're a funny kid Quote from: EEVIAC on February 14, 2010, 06:56:24 PM

I normally can't get hyper (I've tried...energy drinks make me sleepy), but I do get jittery quite easily. Quote from: EEVIAC on February 14, 2010, 06:23:46 PM

For some reason, I haven't seemed to have this. Not from LACK of trying though, heh. Quote from: Helpmeh on February 14, 2010, 07:03:35 PM

You might have attention deficit disorder..  Caffine, from what I understand has an opposite effect on people with ADD...  Do you have difficulty concentrating?

I think I have adult ADD. In the time it takes someone to read a simple paragraph and comprehend it, it would take me 3 to 4 times longer because my attention span is lousy...Also, caffine makes me sleepy sometimes, but other times is wakes me up...  I've got some sort of simply-weird disorder     I won't take Rx drugs though, they seem to cause serious irritation when I take them..

BC    lot of keystrokes  Lol         ...and yes, you're posts/rants average to be far longer than anyone around here I'd say, so I'm surprised you don't suffer from it.. Quote from: EEVIAC on February 14, 2010, 07:25:16 PM

You are confusing ADHD with ADD. I have don't have a difficulty concentrating, but I am good multi-tasking things I deem important. And who knows, about 90% of the people who are classified as "gifted", as I am, have some form of ADD or ADHD.From what I understand ADD and ADHD are one and the same... just one of those renamings that happens every few years. I thought the added hyperactivity changes the disorder... Quote from: Helpmeh on February 14, 2010, 09:28:55 PM

yes, it does. in the same way adding "common" to "cold" changes it's meaning. Which is to say, not at all. Quote from: BC_Programmer on February 14, 2010, 09:34:52 PM

Depending on where you're from, cold may be common and may not. Living on antarctica, cold may be very common, whereas, living NEAR the equator, cold may be rare. I experienced some problems due to repetitive strain injury years ago.  I visited a doctor and was ABLE to resolve the problem.  Actually, I discovered that a faulty mouse was part of the cause.  It was a ball mouse and I did not realize that either the vertical or horizontal sensor had been faulty for perhaps a few months and I had been constantly compensating via extra effort in using the mouse. I have this problem in my right hand. It got so bad that it hurt to screw a lid off of a bottle. My problems stem more from work than computer use I think. I'm a diesel mechanic and pulling wrenches and heavy lifting has about destroyed my wrists and knees too. I have recently gotten a brace for my wrist and I can now open up a drink without it hurting. Only problem is that it is almost impossible to type or use a mouse with the brace so I take it off for the 4 or 5 hours a day I'm at the computer. The doctor said the main thing is to wear it at night while sleeping because that's when your wrist tends to bend down without you even knowing it and pinch the  nerves. If you drive alot which I also do, Drive with just the last two joints of your fingers gripping the steering wheel not with your WHOLE hand wrapped around the wheel which bends your wrist at a 45 degree angle the whole time your driving. I guess the point is, keep your wrist straight as often as possible. soybean... I think you may have struck a good point.. The mouse I use most of the time is ball mouse, and it hasn't been cleaned in a while
I usually take it apart every few months and get the grime/hair off the rollers inside.

I've got an optical mouse on another computer, but when I finally get to it, I cannot enjoy the ease of using it because my mouse hand is already exhausted..Some say the braces exacerbate the problem.  When I am consistent in performing STRETCHING exercises for the hands and wrists, I have much less trouble with pain in my hands and wrists.
