Solve : Sound and Mic Problems?

Answer»

I have a problem and i think its involving my sound CARD. I used to be able to plug my microphone into the back of the computer and it would work fine and the sound would come out of the speakers.
Now HOWEVER, when i plug it in, nothing happens. And i mean nothing. No sounds from the speakers. I use a program called Audacity (link below) and i could record anything from the mic using that but now i cant.
Audacity also can record any sound from the computer like recording online conversations (lol) or music from youtube or something.
Now Audacity isn't picking up any sound/music.
But when i play music (from either Audacity or Windows Media Player) I can hear the music.

Anyone know the problem???

Here is the link for the program, try it out. Its good for editing music

Thanks in advance.More info on the computer, the motherboard, the sound card if any, all information would help us find out what could help you faster?
go into control PANEL/ sound devices / What do you see there ?, click on the advanced tab the one in the middle, INTHE next window are all the small boxes unticked and the volume settings at the top on all the sliders that are showing.
At the back of the computer there should be a group of coloured sockets
the green is normally sound out, speakers, earphones
the blue is the microphone
there could be anything from three to six or even eight sockets depending on the sound system installedOh hey I found the problem. I went to Control Panel --> Sounds and Audio Devices and on the audio and voice tab, the devices weren't 'Intel(r) Integrated Audio, they were set as 'Screaming Bee Audio DRIVER'
This explains a lot because I downloaded a voice morpher so i guess it changed those settings.

Using XP btw, thanks for help.
