Solve : Sound becomes staticy?

Answer»

I noticed that recently the sounds on my COMPUTER have become staticy. If I leave my computer on for a while, (maybe about 12 hours) all sounds have static. I've tried listening with speakers and with headphones, and both have static. It only goes AWAY if I RESTART my computer. How can I fix this? (With out having to restart my computer.) Oh, and I have a Windows XPYou could try reinstalling the drivers for the SOUND device. Are we talking about a sound card here or onboard sound?

Why do you find it a problem rebooting after twelve hours? What are computer temperatures?I had this exact problem on my older computer- the problem turned out to be the sound card and my TV tuner fighting over a IRQ. Everything would be fine, until I ACCESSED something that used the TV tuner, then all the sounds would be static-y until I rebooted.
