I have a HP Pavillion dv8000, windows XP, service pack 3, 1.73GHz, 1 GB RAM.
The DVDCD ROM Drive is a TSST Corp TS-L532M.
It always worked fine, but now when I try to play a DVD the sound is jumpy, the picture is fine though. Any music I play from the hard drive SOUNDS fine. Even If I rip the DVD and play it from the hard drive it sounds fine. I tried setting the sound to analog, that didn't work. Besides, the MOVIES play fine, when played from HD.
You said something about Nero. Are you saying, that the sound was fine, before you installed it?
You may simply have DVD drive problem.
