Answer» i am having very bad sound problems. My speakers are fine, but i think my sound card is messed or somethuing. are there any viruses out there that interfere with the sound card? You shouldn't have to worry about viruses if you have antivirus protection... Also, try reinstalling your current sound DRIVERS, with new ones from the internet... (From the sound card manufacturer's website) Also, which version of Windows are you using?
[glb]Flame[/glb]i am using windows xp! Thanks alot! where can i find the manufactururs website? Click on Start -> Run ... When the run box pops-up, type dxdiag ... Hit run... If a small window pops-up, click no... Now, you will see a large dialog box pop-up... Click on the sounds TAB, and look at the top-left of that window... You should see Manufacturer... Who is it?
[glb]Flame[/glb][glb]I think it says realtek if that is a manufacturer. Please post up again![/glb]HELLO how are you? Sound problems may also caused bcz of the PLAYER you are using for playing audio and video files. So try to install some other good Players like Windows Media Player, Jet Audio or Real Player. If the problem persist then it is possible that it is because of your computer's sound card. Try to reinstall your sound drivers. But I think that it is better to install and up to date drivers for your sound card. If you have problem knowing which sound card do you have then dont worry Simply goto the following site and DOWNLOAD "Driver Genius Pro". By installing this software you can easily get detailed information about your Sound Card. It also includes other features. You can get info about this from the same link:
