Answer» Some time when I am listening to music on my computer (which I LOVE doing often) I find that the sound level fluctuates. This is very annoying but I have NEVER been able to figure out what is causing it.
This has happened to me on a COUPLE of different computers so I don't think it is a hardware (or software) issue. I have just put up with it, but there must be a solution for this problem.
Has anyone else experienced this and is there a solution? On your PC do you have a sound card or embedded sound?Does this happen during the song or is the sound level different for different SONGS? I am using a Creative SB X-FI Xtreme Audio Sound Card.
The sound level alters between quiet and loud randomly in the middle of a song. some days it will play a few songs fine but then other days the volume seems to constantly fluctuate between two sound levels.
If I had to guess I would say the the voltage to the sound card varies, but if so I don't know how to fix it.You might TRY pull your sound card and allow the onboard sound to take over to see if the card is the issue. You may have to reinstall the motherboard drivers.Does it does this with any mp3s or just specific ones? In other words maybe those mp3s are faulty or corrupt? You may want to run Everest to check if everything is running ok on your comp, including power.
