Solve : Soundblaster Xtreme Gamer Xfi Problem?

Answer»

Okay well the drivers and everything work for the sound and speakers and everything BUT there is an issue. Creative's software has decided not to be able to recognize my soundcard as a supported audio device. I have been talking to creative support for the last 2 days and they keep taking LONGER and longer to write back lol. I think its sumped them So I need someone elses help I will post a COPY of my system information and hope someone can find whats wrong. Tnx in advance.

[attachment deleted by admin]Um dude by my post i figure dit was obvious I needed to have the creative applications detect my hardware (main driver work). I have been on tech support email for the past couple of days to no avail. All I need is to fix why the applications do not detect my soundcard but the drivers and window do. Can you give us an example of which applications don't have sound?

Also does any application have sound? Does windows startup make sound?

All applications in windows have sound and so does windows. Windows even uses the soundblaster driver for player recording and midi playback. But even though everything is set to the soundblaster card and onboard audio is disabled I still cant use the creative applications that come with my sound card. I receive an error on all of them saying no supported audio device detected. I am totaly LOST here lol.Have you tried to reinstall the creative applications bundle?

Ive tried 3-4 times. I booted in safe mode removed all drivers and software from them. Then rebooted and reinstalled them. Still received the same error. And creative support has stopped emailing me omg lol. What version of windows are you running? And what is the make of the motherboard?

Are you installing the software and drivers from the original CD that came with the sound card or later versions downloaded from Creative? If your using new versions, you might try to see if an older version driver is available in Device Manager > Roll Back Driver.
Just an idea. Good luck!Windows Xp Professional Sp2 with all the latest updates and hotfixes(not sp3 since it sux). My motherboard is a Nvidia nforce 590 amd board. here is a link to it. http://www.epox.com/product.asp?id=EP-AF590SLI2

I tried only the ones on the cd aswell and it still didn't work right. Everytime I reinstall the drivers I try it without any updates. Then I go back and try them with the updates. Both to no avail.I had an identical problem with a SoundBlaster Live 24-bit card. Windows would see and use it, but the Creative software kept telling me there was no supported device. I returned it to the place I bought it and got another one then it worked FINE. Might just be the card in your case as well.Well bestbuy said I could return it and get another one to see if that works. If all else fails I will just return my headphones and my soundcard and get a cheap set of headphones and take the rest of the money and save it towards a new desktop pc lol. Lol creative stopped emailing me .From your list it looks like you have every piece of software Creative ever wrote...Well I was trying to find one that would actually work lol. I couldn't get any of them to work .Do you have the model # of the sound card handy?Creative - Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer Sound Card
