Solve : Soundcard isnt detected??

Answer»

HI i did a system reformat on my c drive last night and now when i try to reinstall my Creative x-fi sound card it crashes at 85% in the installation and then restarts the computer. When it boots back up it says "The audio device supported by this application is not detected. The application will exit". I turned the on board sound device off already and made SURE that the soundcard was secure in the pci slot, and when I goto the device manager the soundcard shows up there but it says VGA device until i click it and update it then it shows creative soundcard but it will still have the !. I ALSO did try to roll back the driver but it said nothing to roll back to so i couldnn't HELP plx Lylekinoji, Have you gone to "add/remove programs" and tried removing any sound card software and then shut down your computer and restart to see if "new HARDWARE detected" window opens? Then if that happens install from the manufacturers website the drivers appropriate for your PCI sound card.truenorththx for the reply i tried that a bunch of times but nothing seemed to work. Then i started to try to reinstall it from the cd again and now it just shuts down my system when its at 88%Did you re-install the MBoard chipset drivers first ? ?

ALL drivers need to be re-installed after a format...MBoard should ALWAYS go first.yea i made sure to install my mobo drivers b4 anything. i just tried to change the pci slot again so ima going to try that again  wish me luck  Best of Luck !haw haw it worked this time around  O.o dont know what i did this time because i did this more than once before in the same order. Guess luck was with me this time. Although while it was installing a strange alien like sound came out of my headphones and almost gave me a heart ATTACK. ty for the help Good News.
