Answer» Here is what I am trying to do:
I have a mb with onboard 6ch audio. One of the audio ports is SPDIF and I have a stereo with just such a jack. When I try to connect them, I get no sound, but I have CHECKED my computer and stereo from top to BOTTOM and found no reason why it should be this way. If anyone has any ideas, please tell me.
My computer: AMD64 3800+ 2.4GHz ASUS A8V Delux Motherboard (onboard sound: realtech'97) 1GB RAM 200GB HDD
My Stereo: AIWA CX-NMA845 With 5.1 Dolby PRO LOGIC, DSP, and numerous things I dont know about (I've had it for a long time and wasnt the original owner so I dont have the docs for it)You either need to enable the onboard soundcard in the BIOS and install the manufacturers drivers or only do the latter.
What is the error code in device MANAGER?
To ACCESS the device manager in Windows XP:
1. Right click on My Computer 2. Select Properties 3. Go to the Hardware tab 4. Select Device manager under the Device manager section
