Solve : Speakers Not Working After Building New System?

Answer»

I just put together a new system and everything is working smoothly except for my sound. My motherboard uses the Realtek HD audio drivers and has integrated sound. I have speakers on my monitor and they work FINE, but my main speakers and sub woofer don't work at all.

The speakers I am trying to get to work are Boston Acoustics #BA7500. You can view the manual here: www.bostonacoustics.com/Manuals/BA7500Man.pdf.

I bought them back in '00, so they are old but still in good condition. I would prefer to use them if possible.

These speakers have a set-up like so:

The two desktop speakers share one wire that plugs into the subwoofer. The sub woofer has its own power supply and acts as the "mainframe." The sub woofer has a digital output wire that plugs into the sound card, but the wire is not your typical digital out wire. The connector is like a regular analog connector.

The RealTek HD audio control panel has an analog section and a digital section. The analog section corresponds to the I/O ports that I am able to PLUG my wire in. My plug wont fit the digital connector. Since my speakers must use digital output, I figure this MIGHT be my problem.

These speakers were originally used with a SoundBlaster Live! 5.1. Do I have a COMPATIBILITY issue with this integrated sound on my Mobo? Or do I have a wiring problem?Quote

Since my speakers must use digital output
Your manual shows how to use all kind of analog connections in section 3. Input Panel Connections
