Solve : SSD drive is almost full?

Answer»

Hi,
I have Windows 7 Ultimate. OS is on C: 128GB Micron SSD drive, the rest (programs, music, files...) on 1TB HDD D:. Over the time I notices that C: is getting filled rapidly.
Right now windows explorer shows 22.5GB free of 119GB (I know that 119 visible out of 128 is OK), but when I go to C, enable "Show hidden files, folders, and drives", uncheck "Hide protected operating system files", do a select all/properties, it's just 52.5GB there. Where is that 44GB? 22.5+52.5=75≠119.
Please don't tell me about those hibernation or page files. when I say select all, those are included.

Thanks
Actually I'm not sure if I'm posting in right category. Admins, please let me know if not.Download install and run TreeSize...Free...
Post a screen cap of what it shows. Please see attached

[attachment deleted by admin to conserve space]You can empty Recycle Bin...
I'd also set your System Recovery to save only the most recent Restore point....those are why System Volume Info is so large...you can remove old Restore Points via Control Panel/Admin.
Save only the 2 most recent.

The last folder is 5+G...with only a few files...movies perhaps ? ?...those can be moved to your secondary HDD as well.Oo, I see now. Thanks.
I didn't notice that TreeSize shows some 46GB of data in  System Volume information, whereas Windows shows it 0. I couldn't figure it out what do you mean saying Control Panel/Admin. What I did is reduced MAX Usage to 10% instead of 50% and  deleted all restore points by clicking on Delete in System PROTECTION configuration for C drive. Created a new Restore point (just in case) afterwards. This must be what was meant, huh?
>The last folder is 5+G< which one?I have no idea whats in the last folder,,,you will have to figure that out...I can't figure out which one do you mean by saying the last folder. Do you mean that 13.4GB [5 Files]?Yes...That's not a folder, it's those 5 files in root directory, bootmgr, BOOTSECT.BAK, hiberfil.sys, pagefile.sys, SVOAY, and hiberfil.sys, pagefile.sys are the ones that are large. Actually any idea what SVOAY is? Although whatever it was, just deleted it along with  BOOTSECT.BAK looks like with no affect on system's operability. Restarted Windows a couple of times afterwards. Seems like everything is OK so far.OK...leave that one where it is.Oops, didn't notice you response, sorry, just modified my message, which is I deleted it. Didn't have to?Those files will be automatically be re-created by Windows...Not as of yet. What's that SVOAY anyways. If I have a rough idea what BOOTSECT.BAK is, I couldn't find anything about SVOAY.

By the way thank you so much for your support. No problem...Welcome Aboard BTW...
It's likely a system file from the MANUFACTURER...a google search says it's a yearly report by the Dept. of the Navy... ...What Dept. of Navy...?
I'm not a native speaker, so may be I'm missing the wit.
