Answer» I have a Full Size Tower THERMALTAKE BLACK ARMOR ATX model vA8000swA
And the ATX Motherboard I have is the ESC A780GM-A AMD 780 G
I got them both at TIGER Direct.com and I have a problem getting the Motherboard into the Tower.
I can get the Motherboard in the Tower and onto the I/O Plate ok. But the only Stand Offs that line up are One in the Top Left Corner One in the Top Right Corner One in the Bottum Left Corner.
It seems ok and good but when I just tap the Motherboard or even just lightly tuch ware the CPU will go in the middle of the Motherboard I can here the Motherboard hitting the CASS.
And I know when I get the CPU and Heatsink on this Motherboard and RAM it will be havey and I don't WANT it to tuch the Cass.
Am I wrong thinking this will happen or when all I stand the Tower upright it will PULL the Motherboard away from the Cass a little??
ThanksIf no holes are lining up i would return the case, you do not want a shorting problem. On second thought it could be the board. sorry to confuse you.Nope. Xavier you were correct the first time...it's the case. MBoards have hold down holes and standoffs standardised...case manuf. do not. Return the case and pick out a new one.
Smilodon makes nice ones if they are in your budget...That seems really odd, that a quality case like a TT Armor wouldn't line up with a standard ATX board's mounting holes. I know that doesn't help, just wanted to comment on that. I wonder if it's facing the right way. It would be a shame to purchase a new case simply because it wasn't noticed that all the REAR motherboard IO was pointing inwards.
