Hi,

recently my standby button greyed out. Can't remember what i did to cause the change.

Anyway, I checked the latest drivers to my Nvidia 8400 GS Notebook GRAPHICS CARD, and installed them.

but the standby button is still greyed out!?

I'm running xp professional SP3, intel CENTRINO duo 2.2ghz, and 4096 mb RAM.

any suggestions will be appreciated.  HEY man, why you up so late? 

I am assuming this not in Safe Mode?
I would TRY a System Restore.yo carbon.

yes this is not in safe mode.

and i'll try system restore.I'll be here. Only 1 in the afternoon .i tried system restore, but the restore calendar jumped to July, and there's only one restore point which was created after the change.

can't seem to get back to june's calendar. previous month button did not work.

any other suggestions?I did a Google Search and it came up with many links.
From what I have read, it is to do with device drivers.

As I recall, you have been having problems with your drivers  that is correct, but i downloaded and installed the latest driver from laptopvideo2go.com or words to that effect, but my standby button remains unavailable.  I don't think you would mind performing another Windows Repair?
