Solve : started safe mode now no signal to monitors?

Answer»

Hello everyone, not sure if this is the CORRECT area to post this but I am at a loss... I have a Dell 64 bit desktop with windows 8.1, it has the original vga monitor port disabled, as I have a Radeon 7950 GRAPHICS card with 6 hdmi ports, each with a 32" 1080p screen as it's monitor (so I have six monitors running in total). I was getting a notification that "windows POWERSHELL has stopped working" so in researching, I found that I apparently had a virus called poweliks. In following a youtube video on how to remove it, I was instructed to go into safe mode with networking. I did this by opening the BOOT tab in msconfig, and clicking SAFEBOOT and NETWORK. When prompted to restart, I did so, and it restarted with no SIGNAL to my monitors at all. And that is where I am right now. Several attempts to restart, and still no signal to monitors. I believe it is trying to restart to the original VGA port, but again, that one is disabled. So I have no way of seeing a screen at all, to get back out of safe mode. I have tried to restart, and repeatedly tap F8 in hopes of opening a menu, and then arrow down 11 times to hopefully choose normal mode, but that is not working. I do not understand most tech terms, so I will have no idea what you mean if you use tech terms in your reply. I have used cpomputers extensively for 20 years, so I am familiar, but I just do not know the terminology. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Power down...hook up the VGA...what happens ? ?if I hook up a monitor to the vga port, it just says that the port is disabledalthough if it matters, I hooked it up with the power on, should I power down, then hook it up and power up, in that order?
ok I powered down, hokked up the vga monitor, then powered up. The monitor recognizes that it is hooked up, and tells me to shut down and connect to the add in graphics card, but I can't because this is a vga monitor, and does not have the correct plug (mini displayports)

how can i enable the vga port? Am I able to open the tower and just plug it in? Sorry I dont mean to sound ignorant, I'm just searching for solutions...ok so I guess I need to get an hdmi to vga adapter, in order to connect this vga monitor, then I can at least see whats going on, so I can get it out of safe mode. ... You have six monitors and not one has a VGA option?
You need one VGA monitor to do testing.
