Answer» Hi,
My computer is having some Bios-beep-errors during startup. We hear two short beeps, a pause, eight beeps and than again two beeps. The Ami-Bios-Beep-list told me that it has something to do with the graphic adapter, so we've PUT another one in it and initially he started up, he did everything well. We shut him down again and when we tried to start up for a second time he started beeping again.
Does anyone has a clue? I'm not so into computer-hardware
FYI, greets.Did it beep the same code the second time?FRPM Our Archives...Doug: It beeped the same code after replacing the videocard yes. Patio: I found that it had to do something with the Display MEMORY Read/Write test failure, so we replaced it by a new one and he's still beeping, I am out of solutions right now Try replacing the CMOS battery...Part # CR2032...available anywhere...
Has someone been mucking around with the BIOS settings ? ?We've already tried to replace the CMOS-battery, and the same story, two beeps, eight beeps, two beeps and still no screen?
But I think it's weird that with the new videocard we were able to start the whole thing one time and afterwards the same as mentionned before? It may be because the motherboard has static electricity. Unplug the power cord from the motherboard and all the cards you have inserted and wait a day. Then reconnect everything and see what happens.

You can safely ignore the above POST. I was actually tempted to remove it...
