Solve : sticky keyboard key?

Answer»

my backspace key on my keyboard is sticky whenever i press it takes a while to come back up or sometimes stays down.
how shall FIX this?
shall i just spray some wd-4o lubricant on it or shall i open up the keyboard and clean it?
thanks for any helpFirst of all I'd just try a can of air to see if it's something simple like a packed-in clump of dust or hair.

If that doesn't work, try (carefully) removing the problem key and cleaning beneath it (this largely depends on what type of keyboard you have, though... so this may not be doable).

WHATEVER you do, I wouldn't recommend the WD-40. Any type of liquid + electronic components = not good.Replace the keyboard...Quote from: PATIO on January 23, 2008, 01:50:45 PM

Replace the keyboard...

haha, yeah if it's a cheap keyboard I'd do that. However, I could see if he was using a nice gaming keyboard and wanted to fix it.so how WOULD i carefully remove the problem key?I can't tell you how to carefully remove it. As stated earlier, this largely depends on what type of keyboard you have, and it's possible the keys aren't even made to be removed.

If you can't clean it, and you can't remove the key and put it back on, get a new keyboard.
