Solve : Strange click as if computer is about to shutdown.? |
|
Answer» I am not sure what to make of this problem. My Pc seems to be running fine, but every so often I hear this click and it's the same type of click I hear right before my Pc shuts down. I have also noticed that say I am watching a video and this click happens, the video hiccups as if the pc has lost some type of POWER for that SPLIT second and then just resumes. Has anyone got any ideas what could be happening here? PSU getting ready to fail... Quote from: patio on February 19, 2012, 06:47:28 PM PSU getting ready to fail... Could it be that the Psu is not good enough for these computer specs, or would you say it is defiantly on it's way out? I ask this because I have just added another harddrive making that four Harddrives in total. Below is a list of some of my specs. I have also been running the comp for 3 Hours now and it hasn't done it again yet. Cpu i7 930 factory overclocked 4.0ghz. ram Geil 6gig. Graphics card Geforce 570GtX. Psu CoolerMaster 700w. Hard-Drives 4. Gigabyte motherboard. That should be adequate power for that setup... CollerMaster has a Warranty return policy.Hi Frankie I would run a disk CHECK on the hard drives. Some drives reset on to many errors and could be the click you hear. A very easy to use program is HDDtune there is a 30 DAY trial of the pro version and it runs under windows. Let me know if this helps Thanks Lisa |
