Answer» I noticed today that my speakers make a strange noise every so often. It's like the rattle of a rattlesnake. It's not very loud and it lasts about 3 seconds and happens at random intervals.
Computer info. DELL Dimension 8100 Pentium 4 Processor 512 MB RDRAM Microsoft XPDo you have cellphones NEAR to them too..? Any microphones? When did it start? Made any changes to the system recently?
FlameThe only possible change I can think of was the flash BIOS and upgrading the memory, nothing else.
No cell phones near it or microphones or new hardware.Anyone?Try the speakers on another computer, try another set of speakers on the offending computer. Can I plug-in the speakers to a laptop?Sorry Armando, I didn't realise you have a laptop. I'd guess you could plug some speakers in, if you can find a hole... go for it.Well I use a desktop but both my mom and dad have lap-tops. I'll ask them when they get home and see if I can fing this "hole"
Armando...... Ah ......is this issue on the Dell machine that you are unable to install SP2 on ?
dl65 Yes sir, it is.
PS: I tried the speakers on my TV (couldn't use them on the laptops yet) and they work just fine.Armando.....It is my humble OPINION ...that once you get your Dell desktop working properly all your strange issues will disappear . First thing to do is get a new legal win XP cd ....... do a format and clean install c/W SP2 and you will be back in business .
Please note that my SUGGESTION is just MY opinion .........others may offer other SUGGESTIONS and thats ok too.
dl65 Please note that my suggestion is just MY opinion..... W2k is much cheaper & better.Armando,
Is a legal WIndows CD out of the quesion? It seems you had a legal WinME CD, but you have given up on that?
