Solve : Striker Extreme, fan problem.?

Answer»

Hello, I am currently building a new Gaming PC, i GOT the Striker Extreme motherboard for my system.

The PROBLEM is, only 1 Fan socket on the motherboard works...

And i need it for the CPU fan, but its too far away, all of my case fans are connected to the PSU, but i don't really WANT to connect the CPU fan straight to the power supply in case of over powering it, since it is only small.

I need to get the CPU fan to run but when its in the CPU Fan socket near the CPU it just doesn't run...

I have not yet gotten a proper boot, with an image on the screen. But i need to get the CPU fan to run before i run my computer so i don't fry my CPU.

Any suggestions?return the board if its faulty. did you wire the board correctly?Quote from: homer on APRIL 26, 2008, 02:28:50 PM

yes it's all wired up and everything.

I dot'd know why it wont run the fan.....Does it need to go through the 30 second power on self tests (POST) when you first boot up?Follow Homer's advice...you risk burning up that CPU if you insist on fiddling with it to get it to work.
