Solve : System's access speed is slow?

Answer»

Sir,

I am using the system with the configuration:
140 AMD sempron
gigabyte mother board
1 GB RAM
160 GB hard disk

Can I add another Ram of 4 GB .I doubt that if My system supports that much RAM.
Currently my system's access speed is LITTLE bit slow and some times It's hanging up.Some experts are suggesting me that the processor is low and It is very poor compared to Dual core. What are the AMD processors launched after AMD sempron 140 ?

some times when I started my sytem the programs are loading Low access speed by consuming a lot of time. But it 's happening only some times.

I scanned the system with quick heal and deleted the virus with Malwarebytes software. But still the same thing happens.

Please suggest me that whether I can continue with this processor.
Hello helpin,

You could probably upgrade your processor and add RAM.

What Operating System do you have, and do you know the model # of the Gigabyte board?* My question is that can I upgrade only the RAM? ANd let me know if the processor Sempron 140 is the cause for this.Is the problem raised because of the Processor?I doubt that the system is slow because of Processor or Motherboard .I purchased it 4 Months ago and till the Date of purchase I am having this slowness problem .

*Can I upgrade t0 4 GB RAM to the same processor?
*I am using the XP OS
*Can I get this model Number in system properties window?

I am including the Performance information of my CPU

I checked the Performance using task manager At restart of my system is: CPU usage :0%- 2 % . PF usage295 MB

While using This just one site vark in browser CPU usage :0%- 4 % . PF usage 350 MB

while MS word, blue voda, browser, VLC player is CPU usage :0%-5 % . PF usage 441 MB

* And I USED to clean my PC regularly using glary utilities, ccleaner * I also have memory improve master installed . It shows 32% of memory usage at only OS running and 42 -65 % of memory usage at other programs running . Paging file usage is 15 % -19 % and CPU usage is 2-9 %

memory usage reading in this memory Improve master is some times 65% If I use 4-7 tabs in my firefox browser.
I purchsed it a 3 months ago and the hard disk using now is 160 of GB for temporary purpose.Actual Hard disk purchased with this system is of 250 GB(SEAGATE SATA)and is at service center .

As I am using new hard disk now ,It has a original OS installed which is installed recently a 10 ago.

I used to install the OS frequently In other hard disk too (250 GB which I explained above),As It is used to give trouble frequently. At that time too I faced this slowness problem.Quote from: helpin on January 31, 2010, 10:11:53 PM

*You can upgrade your RAM. 4GB? We don't know yet.

*32bit or 64bit version of XP?

*Download, install, and run this... www.cpuid.com (Download version 1.53 with Installer. It should give you the info for your board) If it doesn't, you might as well just look at the board itself to get the number.I don't think your motherboard is the reason either. But I need the info on the board to tell you how much RAM you can add, and what type of processor you can upgrade to if you decide to go that route.

BTW, your CPU, isn't a bad one, but it's not great either. It's only a single core, (dual core actually, but I doubt you'll be able to unlock the second), and a good dual core will result in better overall perfomance.lQuote from: t_blake07 on January 31, 2010, 11:20:28 PM

I am not sure if i follow it .And as you the model I am sending the report of my system's configuration.

Your processor technically has 2 cores. But when it leaves the factory, only 1 is made available to the consumer. Unless you know a lot about processors and motherboards and other hardware, I wouldn't worry about it. I certainly don't know how to unlock the second core.Your board is a Gigabyte M61PME-S2P Micro ATX Motherboard.

It can handle a Maximum of 8GB of DDR2 1066MHz RAM.

This means if you have Windows XP 64bit, you can safely install a total of 8GB of RAM.

If you have Windows XP 32bit, you can install 4GB, but it may only register as 3GB.Your motherboard will support a AM2 or AM2+ processor, if you would like to upgrade that.

And to answer your first question about what processors follow the Sempron 140...

Your CPU isn't all that old. It's just a single core, budget CPU.

This CPU would be a very nice, yet cheap upgrade...

Or this Dual Core...

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103772* IS it possible to any hardware technician to unlock it as you said? Doing so is Odd ?Is common thing?I mean to ask that anyone having such proceesors follow that trick?

*What is the difference between XP 32 and 64 Bit?Can I use windows 64 Bit on my computer? I don't know these differences in OSs .I just use the XP OS

* If I run Spybot software,My CPU graph is reaching 100 % for only one program running. Why?
The same thing happens while the burning process of CD

Is it happens when there is a problem in processors or any other parts like mother board etc.,
