Solve : system32\ntoskrnl.exe was missing?

hi to all
I have the computer which has
160GB SATA HDD,1GB of RAM
Now I have TWO operating system one is windows xp 32-bit sp2 & second is windows xp 64-bit sp1.
I don't know how but when I START xp 32-bit hte error occur that is \system32\ntoskrnl.exe is missing or currept.
I tried to COPY this file from my xp cd.
but problem is there.
Now what may I do?
If I format the C: drive where theos is stored or not.
Pls reply me as soon as possible.

And If you reformat you will lose everything that includes system files as well as personnel files.
When you reformat and you put the OS CD in and install it the problem would be solved but I wouldn't do this as a first option.
What protection do you have? (Like AVG, Superantiwpyware,...)
Do you have the disk of the OS?
Do both OSs have that same problem?
If you have the disk you can try start -> run -> type "SFC /SCANNOW"
This will check if all windows files are there and will renew them if lost.
You can also try start -> run -> type "CHKDSK /X /F"
Here you will not need the CD but I don't really think that this will fix the problem.
There are still some other ways to solve this problem but first I need an answer at those questions.

Also yes for I have a disk.
No, there is only problem with 32-bit xp as I say before.
The second is work properly.I want to ask you Jonas that u said for scanning right?

Than my both suggestions of CHKSDK and SFC / SCannow won't work.
(I think that is the part that you didn't get.)

You might first want to SCAN with AVAST and see if there aren't any viruses.
Then install a antispyware program and scan once again.
Let me know what you found.

Jonas I just want know that if I remove the OS without affecting to other operating system.
Because the windows xp 64-bit is working properly.So,I think that if I remove windaows xp 32-bit from the PC.It is possible or not? If there is any problem for removing the one os.Normally the way to remove an OS is reformatting but when you have 2 OSs.
I would say backup your data and reformat and only install one OS.
But you would want to wait for some one else to confirm its not possible before reformatting.

Jonas I just want to tell you Jonas that scanning is in progress.
During this I found one VIRUS that is win32/trojan.....
I hope that by this problem may be solved.
Thank you.This will not solve the problem if the file is already delete it will not return from itself but you can retry to copy it.

Sorry but I have not Antispyware.I would advice you to Download one.
There are lots of good free antispyware programs.
Scan you computer with it I'm sure if you never had an antispyware that you will find at least one spyware program.
Let us know if you're been able to recover the other windows and if you found any spyware.

Jonas as you say I download antispyware.
But it can't solve my problem.
During scanning I can't found any spyware but find two viruses that delete those files.
Now what may I do?
Without Jonas no one can help me.
