system: Custom Built

Win Xp Pro Service pack 3
Amd Athlon 64 X2 dual core processor 3800+
2.00ghz, 2.gb ram

was curious what ttemp should be.. runs around 65C when playin a gameThermal specs:

http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/K8/AMD-Athlon%2064%20X2%203800%2B%20-%20ADA3800DAA5CD%20%28ADA3800CDBOX%29.htmlk.. now speedfan is sayin its runnin around 75 up to 78C .. idk.. any IDEAS?Have you ever done thermal paste before ? ?
Are all fans running properly ? ?

Thermal Paste Guidesno never have. i dont know if the guy that put it in for me did that or not.. But i think i was totally wrong.. I think its the GRAPHICS card thats gettin hot.. felt inside my case..and theres alot of heat comming off my graphics card.. i was told when i got the card and processor put in that i probably needed a bigger power supply (got 400watts) and my System info is above.. but my graphics card is a Raedon 9800 pro...think it would help the graphics card if i flipped my fan on the side of my case around suckin in cold air threw the system? Its in the living room and the ac is always onDLoad and run SpeedFan...

Depends on the case and where the air vents are located. Many computers use the power supply pull all the hot air out. I prefer extra fans to pull the heat out. Keeps the psu cooler. Remember, whatever air you pull out, gets pulled in from somewhere. Give us some pics.
BTW, 65C is no big deal. At 100% useage, my P4-519 3.06GHz, reaches about the same.so far...

[Saving space, attachment deleted by admin]commando.. its been reachin 78c today while playin a game at right at100% useage.. why i was asking....Seems normal to me. According to SpeedFan, I have 3 sensors at 86C, 86C, 62C, right now. ACPI temp is 62C. Readings are very dependent on the location of the sensor and are not very accurate. If it gets too hot the BIOS will shut it down. It's designed to run 100% all the time. Intels have a bit more tolerance to heat than AMD's.

Try CPUID Hardware Monitor, it GIVES a bit more information in a more concise form.

Sorry, I meant pics of the case & fans.commando i will post pics of my case later.. im on lunch break right now and dont have time but i do have 3 fans in my case.. one on the left side.. one on the back and one in the very front of the tower.. but not sure how the one in the front actually helps lol..In general, side fan should draw cool air in, back fan draws hot air out, PSU draws hot air out and cools itself. Front fan can be either way, depending where all the vent holes in the case are and ease of mounting. Air In to the box needs to equal Air Out of the box. If not, then the fans can slow or stall.o well SEE i think when i cleaned the fan on the side i think i turned it around were its blowin out as well as the back is blowin out.. i think i needa turn it back around to suck in the cold air.. correct? and idk about the front fan.. the vents for it are on the right side of the case so i dont think its blowin out.. or suckin anything in much.. i dont even know why its there cause its on the bottom underneath the Sata HD. so i dont know
