X = 2 , y = 1

Solution :

Here ,

The given equations are ;

2X + y = 5 --------(1)

y = 3 - x --------(2)

Now ,

PUTTING y = 3 - x in EQ-(1) , we get ;

=> 2x + y = 5

=> 2x + 3 - x = 5

=> 2x - x = 5 - 3

=> x = 2

Now ,

Putting x = 2 in eq-(2) , we get ;

=> y = 3 - x

=> y = 3 - 2

=> y = 1

Hence ,

x = 2 , y = 1
