Solve the simultaneous equations 4 x + 5 y = − 19 6 x − 3 y = 24 Help this is urgent!!!!

Answer»

4x + 5y = −19 -----> eq1

6x − 3y = 24 -------> eq2

eq1 × 3 and eq2 × 5

12x + 15y = -57 ---> eq3

18X - 15y = 120 ---> eq4

add both eq3 and eq4

12x + 18x = 63

30x = 63

x = 21/10

x value in eq1 or eq2

4x + 5y = −19

4(21/10) + 5y = -19

84 + 50y = -190

50y = -190 - 84

y = -274/50

check:

substitute x and y value in eq1 or eq2

4x + 5y = −19

4(21/10) + 5(-274/50) = -19

(84 - 274) / 10 = -19

-190/10 = -19

-19 = -19

LHS = RHS
