|
Answer» below is the specs of my "test console", which i USE to test hard drives, optical drives, random PCI devices, and such. it is running WinXP pro SP1 (no need to update as i will not use the security center in the first place on this rig). the specs are as follows: Heh, Zylstra has 2121 replies.... not sure what makes that unique, but hey, Ill TAKE it Nothing MUCH. Just the pattern 21 21. The slowest computer I've ever run Windows XP on had a 200MHz Pentium Pro, 144MB of RAM, and a 2.5GB hard drive. It took 4 hours to install. Right now i have it on my laptop (500MHz Mobile Pentium III, 192MB RAM, 20GB hard drive) and it runs ok for the most part, but it takes like 10 minutes to start up fully, which is why i use standby... I had it on my desktop (which i am using now) for quite a while (566MHz Celeron, 256MB RAM, 20GB HD), but i decided to install Windows 2000 Professional instead. -JohnThe slowest I've got XP running on is a Pentium 160Mhz, 64MB RAM and a 5GB harddisk. (Not REALLY) |
