Answer» Laptops have a switch that engages when you close the lid. You can set this to shut down the computer, go into hibernation, etc. Find this switch and make sure it's not stuck in the engage position. If it is, the computer will appear to be starting up normally, but before it completes the process it will switch to shutting down, going into hibernation, etc. I know what you're talking about but I haven't seen a laptop with a switch LIKE that in a loooong time. Nowadays, it is pretty much built into the monitor. However, it's good advice if you had this. I've had this MACHINE a loooong time!
What do you mean by 'built into the monitor?'Hard to explain. Imagine your laptop without the switch but it still does the same thing when you close the lid. hi there can u log into safe MODE and then u can go to control panel--> power options-->try to find the LINK says what happens on "when close the lid" and put that to sleep not shutdown. or u can go into bios while starting up, and then SEE the sleep mode should not be on s3, if it is put it on s1. hope u'll find luk in this. cheers vik
