Solve : Toshiba L505D GS6000 Resolution/Aspect Ratio Issue?

Answer»

I just bought a L505D GS6000 computer and am very satisfied. However their is one very annoying issue that KINDA makes me want my old A305-S6916 computer back. When playing any type of simulator game, such as a flight simulator the resolution/aspect ratio of the screen is always messed up. For example an object in the game such as an aircraft will look stretched when veiwed in the horizontal (facing left and right on screen), and look flattened/shortened whenever it's viewed in the vertical (Facing TOP to bottom of screen). I've tried every fix imaginable, changing aspect ratio and resolution, changing one or the other at a time (these two options only reverse or worsen the effect), and using ATI Catalyst control center, etc. but nothing seems to help. I'm not familiar with the ATI Mobility Radeon HD4200 graphics system, and it might just be a feature of this card. Anyway if ANYONE can help I'll take any suggestions. One more thing that might be the problem is that this game was made in 2006, so its somewhat dated however my old computer had a 16:9 screen obviously just like this one and it never had this problem. Also the reccomended resolution for the L505D GS6000 is 1366x768, I've never used this setting before, nor did I know it existed on any CURRENT computer. So I guess in the end my point is SINCE the game is old, could it not be capable of running with these modern features and settings.

Thanks Don't know if this relevant as i have not researched your monitor. However many years ago on a CRT monitor i had this type of problem. If i recollect the problem was created by the incorrect monitor Hz being used. Once i changed it the problem was gone. truenorth
